Job Opportunity – Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) RN – Pennsylvania

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with every 3rd weekend requirement. Floating to other units as needed based on census. Block scheduling not available.
Highlights:
High-acuity Surgical Intensive Care Unit with diverse case mix including neurosurgery, vascular surgery, thoracic surgery, orthopedic interventions, and liver transplants
Level 1 Trauma center experience with exposure to MVA, falls, gunshot wounds, and open abdomens
16-bed unit with average daily census of 14 patients; collaborative interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
Advanced equipment and procedures including CRRT, mechanical ventilation, ICP monitoring, EVDs, arterial lines, central lines, and chest tube management
EPIC charting system with 8-hour orientation provided
First-time travelers accepted with minimum 2 years of experience required
Requirements:
Active Pennsylvania or Compact state RN license required at time of submission
Minimum 2 years of critical care nursing experience required
BLS and ACLS certifications required; TNCC preferred
Trauma Level I or Level II experience preferred
Previous charge experience preferred
Patient ratio experience of 1:2 required
Proficiency in managing ventilated patients, vasoactive drips, arterial lines, central lines, and complex surgical ICU cases
Experience with liver transplant, neurosurgery, and post-craniotomy care highly valued
Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
PA state fingerprinting and background clearance required
Clinical competency assessment required for clearance
