The role requires providing care for generalized cardiac patients. Patients range in age from young adults to elderly adults. The unit typically has a patient ratio of 4:1. Equipment used includes Life Paks, Zoll, and Masimo. The nurse may occasionally be required to float to other departments. Common diagnoses include chest pain, atrial fibrillation, and congestive heart failure. The nurse will care for patients pre and post cardiac catheterization. The work environment is described as family-oriented. Scrub color is flexible; any color scrubs are acceptable. The minimum experience required for this position is 2 years.
