Description:
This is a brand new Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit.
Educational opportunities are available for travelers.
Patient types include Sepsis, Cellulitis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, and Pneumonia.
Occasionally, there will be post-operative overflow of Total Joints and GI/Abdominal surgeries.
Patient ratios are RN: 1:5-6 and CNA: 2 per shift, unless census does not require it.
The unit typically has a free-floating charge nurse.
A Client Unit Coordinator is available during the day shift.
Phlebotomy services are in-house, and RNs can draw Central Venous Lines, PICC, and Midline lines.
An IV/VAT team is available from 7 AM to 3 PM for PICC placement.
A hospitalist is available in-house for most patients.
Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech Therapy are also available.
The electronic medical record system used is Meditech Expanse.
IV pumps are Alaris, and medication dispensing is done through Pyxis.
Travelers are required to float to any Med/Surg area within the facility.
Weekend rotation is every other week.
Team members will work a mandatory schedule of 4 days one week and 3 days the next week.
Time off requests are limited to one weekend of RTO per 13-week contract, with specific guidelines on duration.
Holiday expectations include working 2 out of 3 holidays.
Scrub color is Pewter, and t-shirts must be gray, white, or black with the designated monogram.
Jackets must be gray or black, and badges must be worn above the waist and in full view at all times.
