Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Telemetry

Job Overview

The Cardiac Telemetry Unit is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to provide high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac conditions. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in managing continuous intravenous medications and a strong understanding of cardiac arrhythmias.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage patients in overflow Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) settings.
• Administer cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, and Nitroglycerin.
• Oversee administration of diuretics, anticoagulants, and insulin drips.
• Provide care for patients experiencing chest pain, renal issues, pulmonary conditions, and cardiac arrhythmias.
• Perform arrhythmia management and cardioversion as needed.
• Care for a range of surgical patients post-operatively.
• Utilize Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems for patient care and documentation.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.
• Float to other units within scope of practice as necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with prior travel experience preferred.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Experience managing continuous IV medications is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to handle a patient ratio of 1:5-6 in a telemetry setting.
• Strong knowledge in basic arrhythmia management.

• Maximum of 7 days off requested during the contract period.
• Weekend shifts are typically every other weekend based on staffing needs.
• Holiday coverage is required for major holidays within the assignment period.
• Compliance with full requirements is necessary to start on time.
