Job Title: RN Telemetry I Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:30 PM - 07:00 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, NIH Certification required Must-Have: Critical thinking skills, ability to work in a stressful environment, ability to work with minimal supervision Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Must be able to work in a stressful environment. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Will be required to work "up to" 6 weekend shifts and holidays as needed to fill the needs of the department. This is a cardiac telemetry unit, caring for all cardiac needs including post-operative care. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4-6. The unit is supported by Patient Care Technicians and a Healthcare Unit Coordinator. Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring is available as well as monitor technicians to monitor those on telemetry. This unit serves a diverse population of all ages. Nurses work together in teams and are supported by Patient Care Technicians and a unit secretary. Will be required to work "up to" 6 weekend shifts and holidays as needed to fill the needs of the department.
