Roles and Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to telemetry and medically complex patients Perform thorough head-to-toe assessments and monitor patients for changes in condition Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, oxygen saturation, and other clinical indicators Recognize abnormal cardiac rhythms and promptly communicate significant changes to the appropriate clinical team Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments safely Manage IV lines, central lines, drains, catheters, wound-care needs, and other patient-care devices Monitor patients with cardiac, respiratory, and other acute medical conditions Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate nursing interventions Assist with admissions, transfers, procedures, treatments, and discharge activities Provide post-operative and wound care according to patient needs and provider orders Monitor patients receiving cardiac medications, anticoagulants, and other high-alert medications as required Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, lifestyle changes, and discharge instructions Promote fall prevention, infection prevention, mobility, nutrition, hydration, and overall patient safety Respond appropriately to rapid responses, emergencies, and code situations Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, CNAs, case managers, and other healthcare professionals Support discharge planning and continuity of care Follow facility policies, infection prevention procedures, HIPAA requirements, and patient safety standards
Qualifications
Active Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) License Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry nursing experience Current BLS Certification required Strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring and telemetry nursing Ability to identify and interpret common cardiac rhythms Experience with medication administration, IV therapy, and comprehensive patient assessment Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and time-management abilities Ability to prioritize effectively during night-shift operations Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care Show more Numbers & Facts Location Lexington, KY Salary $1,900–$2,100
