Ability to manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration
Description:
This position involves caring for patients in a telemetry setting.
The patient population includes adults to geriatrics.
Common diagnoses include congestive heart failure (CHF) and myocardial infarction (MI).
Candidates should also be familiar with chest pain management pre- and post-cardiac catheterization.
Experience with dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypovolemia, and hypertension is needed.
Knowledge of managing pleural effusions, sepsis, pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis, and vascular issues is also required.
Patient ratios will typically range from 1:4 to 1:5.
Experience with the Epic charting system is required.
Navy blue scrubs will be worn.
Travelers are expected to work one major holiday during their assignment.
If assigned during two major holidays, two holidays must be worked.
Three major holidays will require working two of the holidays.
Full compliance is required to start on time.
Candidates will be reviewed to assess clinical fit before final selection.
Locals are accepted at the same rate.
Proper management of cardiopulmonary issues is critical in this unit.
Specific skills required include management of BiPAP/CPAP, blood product administration, IV management, and wound care.
Experience with central line care, tracheostomy care, and telemetry monitoring (both on-unit and remote) is also essential.
Candidates should possess knowledge of isolation precautions, phlebotomy, and care for ventilated patients.
This role demands proficient interpretation of arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias.
Flexibility to float within the facility as needed is expected.
Compliance with onboarding requirements must be completed promptly.
All requested time off must be finalized prior to submission.
No requests for time off can be made during orientation week.
Maximum time off is limited to 7 days per contract.
Compliance requirements will be reviewed before employment begins.
