Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: - Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience, with surgical telemetry preferred. - Required experience in open heart surgery and vascular care, including groin and radial band management. License: - Active compact nursing license required. Certifications: - ACLS - BLS - NIHSS Must-Have: - Must have experience in managing telemetry patients, including pre/post-open-heart surgery and vascular surgery patients. - Must have experience with cardiovascular interventions and managing cardiac drips. - Must have experience with telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management. Description: Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of telemetry experience. Travelers must be flexible and willing to float to like units as needed. Every other weekend availability is required. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4 during the day and night shifts, potentially increasing to 5 at midnight. Experience with managing surgical cardiac telemetry patients is essential. Nursing responsibilities include providing care for myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, and pre/post-operative cardiac patients. Candidates should be competent in performing blood administration, cardioversion, defibrillation, and managing temporary pacing devices. Skills required include telemetry monitoring, IV management, and adherence to IV protocols. Prior charge experience is beneficial. The unit provides interdisciplinary support from various specialty teams. Special procedures performed may include breathing treatments, chest tube care, and administration of blood products. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge in managing acute cardiovascular conditions and be familiar with specialized treatment protocols.
