Description:
This position requires a Registered Nurse for a Cardiac Tele unit.
The shift is three 12-hour night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30.
Weekend coverage may be required every other weekend, subject to change based on need.
Floating to like units or other facilities may be necessary depending on the needs.
The patient population includes adults with actual or potential life-threatening multisystem or cardiac conditions.
Common diagnoses include sepsis, myocardial infarction, unstable angina, and coronary artery disease.
Patients may also be receiving IV antiarrhythmic therapy, vasoactive infusions, and anticoagulation.
Special procedures include vasoactive drug administration, antiarrhythmic drug therapy, thrombolytic therapy, defibrillation/cardioversion, thoracentesis, cardiac telemetry monitoring, EKG, and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring.
Required certificates include ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and a valid RN license.
Applicants must have at least 1 year of relevant experience in the field.
First-time travelers will be considered based on experience.
Staff may be required to float to other units and campuses as needed.
Candidates must have prior experience interpreting dysrhythmias and managing dysrhythmias.
Daily census is approximately 14 patients with a 1:5 patient ratio on days.
Interdisciplinary support is available from various services including physical therapy and respiratory services.
This position requires the ability to manage potential emergencies and apply advanced nursing skills effectively.
