Must-Have:
Experience managing continuous IV medications, including cardiac drips:
- Amiodarone
- Cardizem
- Dobutamine
- Dopamine
- Milrinone
- Nitroglycerin
Experience with diuretics:
- Bumex
- Lasix
Experience with anticoagulants:
- Aggrastat
- Argatroban
- Heparin
Experience with insulin drips is also required.
Basic arrhythmia knowledge, hemodynamic monitoring, and care of patients post-procedure are a must.
Description:
Candidates must confirm experience with managing IV medications upon submission to avoid delays.
Patient population mainly consists of adults and geriatrics.
The candidate will be responsible for overflow IMCU care, arrhythmia management, cardioversion, cardiac CHF, chest pain, renal, and pulmonary issues.
Surgical patients may present with conditions such as cholecystectomy, appendicitis, and chest tubes.
Occasional overflow of vascular patients and post-cardiac catheterization patients is expected.
Travelers should anticipate some orthopedic or CVA patients, which will be transferred as soon as possible to the appropriate unit.
Team members will use Epic as the charting system, along with other standard unit systems.
The expected patient ratio is 1:5-6 on the unit.
Weekend shifts will typically be every other weekend.
Floating to similar units within scope of practice may be required.
Call is rare, with a response time of two hours.
Major holidays are required to be worked if occurring during the assignment period.
Compliance with onboarding is essential to start on time.
Candidates will be reviewed for clinical fit before moving to final selection.
