Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS and ACLS from AHA only Must-Have Skills/Experience: 1 year Cardiac Tele experience, inpatient only. ACLS certification. Ability to read telemetry. Experience working with CHF, chest pain, renal, and hemodialysis patients. Experience with Amiodarone and Cardizem drips. Experience with central lines including HD catheters, ports, and PICCs. Description: The position involves providing patient care in a fast-paced, high acuity telemetry unit. Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Requires working with patients who have cardiac issues, respiratory concerns, renal issues, and those on hemodialysis. The unit has a patient ratio of approximately 1 nurse for every 6 to 8 patients during the night shift. Assessments and interventions are guided by established nursing practice guidelines and standards. Physical demands include standing and walking for most of the duty, along with bending, stooping, and lifting patients with assistance. Additional responsibilities include monitoring tele patients and responding to urgent situations appropriately. The ideal candidate will possess compassion, empathy, and strong attention to detail, with a team-oriented mentality.
