Travel Nurse RN - Telemetry - $2,031 per week in Gilbert, AZ

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days + 4 Weekend Shifts per Schedule + Holiday Rotation Hours per Shift: 36 Hours per Week Experience: 2 Years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Strong cardiac telemetry background, preferably 2 years. Experience in titrating cardiac drips per physician's orders and parameters. Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips. Description: This is a telemetry position requiring telemetry skills. Travelers must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to starting. There is a PASS/FAIL simulation laboratory on the first day of orientation. Failure in the simulation lab will result in dismissal and a 6-month Do Not Use status. Nurses will be caring for patients in the emergency department awaiting placement. Common diagnoses include medical-surgical and telemetry patients. Nurses will typically care for more telemetry patients than medical patients. Charge nurse duties may be required. Patient-to-nurse ratios are 1 to 4. There are patient care technicians available on the unit. There is no ventilator support available. Shifts are 12 hours in duration. Self-scheduling is permitted but may change based on needs. Weekend requirements include four shifts in a four-week schedule. Holidays are to be rotated among permanent staff. Floating to other units may be required as needed. The charting system used is Cerner. This role requires the ability to assist with emergency department tasks such as vital signs, IV starts, and medication administration. Nurses will not be assigned as primary registered nurses for emergency department patients. Cancellation policy allows for up to four shifts to be canceled during a 13-week assignment.
