Job Title: Telemetry Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 14 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 Year in Specialty License: Compact License Required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Experience caring for post-operative surgical patients, particularly in orthopedics and gastrointestinal surgeries. Ability to manage telemetry patients and perform cardiac monitoring. Strong attention to detail and proficiency in managing multiple patients within a busy environment. Description: This is a busy medical surgical unit with a focus on orthopedic, spine, general surgery, and bariatric patients. The unit typically receives 10-20 post-operative patients each day. The nurse should possess both medical and surgical skillsets and be comfortable floating to other units as needed. Competency in managing various procedures including wound vac care and solid orthopedic experience is required. Candidates must pass an EKG exam during onboarding to demonstrate proficiency. Registered Nurses will work within a collaborative interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics who primarily require post-operative care. Candidates should be prepared for a high turnover rate and multiple admissions and discharges each shift. Compliance with BLS, Med/Surg Tele competency, and other required skills is mandatory. Local candidates within a specified radius are not eligible for this position.
