Travel Nurse RN - Telemetry - $2,039 per week in Chandler, AZ

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent experience within the past 6 months License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS - AHA or APEX Must-Have: Strong cardiac telemetry background with experience in titrating drips. Description: This is a telemetry position, requiring telemetry skills. Travelers will need to pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving an offer. There will be a PASS/FAIL simulation lab on the first day of orientation. Nurses will care for patients who are waiting for placement on a unit, primarily medical/surgical and telemetry. Nurses must be able to decrease cardiac drips per physician's orders and parameters. The unit has a ratio of 1 nurse to 4 patients. Common diagnoses include patients on telemetry monitoring. RNs must be able to read and interpret cardiac strips as there are no monitor techs in the unit. There will be a requirement to float to medical/surgical/telemetry/overflow units as needed. Each nurse can self-schedule shifts, although this may change from time to time. The weekend requirement consists of 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule. Nurses are required to rotate holiday shifts with permanent staff. There is no call or standby requirement. Additional responsibilities may include helping with vital signs, IV starts, and medication administration for ED patients. Nurses will not be asked to be the primary RN for ED patient assignments. The charting system used is Cerner.
