Alliance Services, Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Job Details:
• Work on a Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit with 24 private rooms, including 4 rooms designated for ventilator patients
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
• Day/Evening shift patient ratio of 1:4-5; Night shift patient ratio of 1:6-7
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• Schedule made 6 weeks at a time and received 2 weeks prior
• One holiday per contract required
• Cannot work more than 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts per fatigue policy
• No on-call responsibilities
• Care for medical patients including those with COPD, chest pain, post cardiac cath, DM, cellulitis, chronic trachs, wounds, ventilators, heart failure, and surgical patients
• Average patient length of stay is 5-10 days
• Vent experience required; a 3-hour vent class taught by Respiratory Therapy is available, followed by an additional 12 hours of orientation with vent patients
• Travelers will manage ventilator patients; RT manages the vent itself
• Charge nurse experience required and must be willing and comfortable performing charge duties
• Telemetry monitoring experience required
• Required skills include wound care, surgical/post-op care, IV start skills, wound vacs, PEG tubes, tube feedings, TPN, and trach care
• Travelers are first to float to all other medical/surgical units and ED holding at a 1:4 ratio
• Charting system: EPIC required
• Additional equipment used: Alaris, Pyxis, GE monitors
• Scrub color: Any color accepted, no camouflage or denim
• Must document pain levels before and after administering pain medications
• Parking in main structure is free
• Required certification: BLS

This facility is a large 933-bed hospital holding Magnet Designation and recognized as a Level III Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center. The unit benefits from robust support including 24/7 unit secretaries, hospitalists, and respiratory therapy, as well as centralized telemetry monitoring, a phlebotomy team, and an IV/VAD team for central line management. The facility fosters a fast-paced, high-acuity environment known for its strong team culture and excellent communication among staff.
