Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 Years License: Current nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience in a challenging and busy telemetry unit - Traveler experience preferred; willing to accept first-time travelers - Skills in IV starts and telemetry monitoring - Experience with pre and post-procedure cardiac patients - Ability to manage cardiac drips Description: RTO after booking is not allowed. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could lead to cancellation. This unit provides primary cardiac and stroke care. Stable pre/post care for pacemaker implantation and cardiac catheterization is required. Staff will manage patients with unstable angina and low-risk chest pain evaluations. Nurses will run multiple drips, including Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone. Unit staff must be accustomed to a fast-paced environment. Typically, the unit turns over 78 to 90 patients weekly. Nurses with a 6-patient assignment may require frequent rehospitalization and reassignments. Orientation for this role is extensive and requires full availability during the initial training week. All nurses will be responsible for managing COVID-positive patients with specific equipment and protocols. Compliance testing must be passed prior to the start for this specialty. This position also requires the ability to float as needed within the facility. Weekend shifts, including every other weekend, will be required. Team leads will assist nurses with admissions and discharges. Candidates must have experience interpreting dysrhythmias and managing complex cardiac cases. Non-rebreathers and BiPAP usage must be in accordance with established protocols. Nurses will be expected to handle high patient volumes efficiently while maintaining quality care. This role will not allow for blocking in scheduling.
