Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Telemetry

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Telemetry unit. The nurse will provide comprehensive quality care to patients with cardiovascular conditions, focusing primarily on heart failure management and post-hospitalization care arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver holistic care to meet the individual physical, emotional, psychological, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients and their families.
• Monitor patients continuously using telemetry for EKG and oxygen saturation.
• Administer intravenous and oral medications according to established protocols to treat cardiac conditions and arrhythmias.
• Prepare and facilitate patients for cardiac interventions, surgeries, diagnostic tests, and other procedures.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current South Carolina RN license.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with the EPIC medication system.
• At least 2 years of nursing experience in the cardiac telemetry specialty, with 3 years required for first-time travelers.
• Ability to float as needed to meet unit demands.

Shift Schedule

This position requires a shift of 3 shifts per week (12-hour days from 07:00 - 19:30). Weekend coverage is expected every other weekend, subject to change based on unit needs.

Patient Population

The Cardiac Telemetry unit is a 32-bed facility dedicated to providing around-the-clock nursing care to patients with various cardiovascular conditions.

Special Procedures

Registered Nurses in this unit will be responsible for ongoing patient assessment and monitoring, ensuring patient safety and comfort while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
