Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience required License: Valid Compact license must be in hand at submission Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Client RN experience; comfortable with the NIH scale and proficient in caring for post-surgical neurology patients and various neurology diagnoses Description: The position requires a registered nurse with telemetry and neurology experience. The nurse will float between units as needed. The position is not on-call. Weekends are required every other weekend. No block schedules are required. The expected patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4. Applicants must have experience with telemetry patients. The ability to perform and interpret the NIH stroke scale is essential. Candidates should be proficient in caring for post-surgical neurology patients. Experience in managing BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, craniotomy, and cerebrovascular accidents is necessary. The unit requires skills in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. The designated stroke unit is thrombectomy capable. The candidate will experience a daily census of 48 patients. Interdisciplinary support and interpretation services are available. This position may involve floating between nearby facilities. The facility supports a culture of safety and quality patient care with JCAHO designations. References covering one year of experience within the last three years are required.
