Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year of nursing experience, with at least 6 months of telemetry experience License: RN License in state of employment or compact Certifications: BLS certification from AHA, ACLS certification from AHA Must-Have: Epic experience required Description: 1 Position Open 4 Offers Accepted Candidate must have 1-2 years of nursing experience and at least 6 months of telemetry experience. Shift hours are from 7 PM to 7 AM. The position involves caring for cardiac and telemetry patients. This is not a stepdown unit. Temporary to permanent placement is a possibility. Every other weekend work is required. There is no on-call requirement. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1-6:1, depending on staffing. The competent nurse practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care with the ability to work on long-range goals and plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to manage the clinical situation. Meets expectations of applicable competencies. Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families according to their level of practice. Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatment. Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers, identifying issues and resources. All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurse Orientation within the first 30 days of hire. New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member. Initial onboarding requirements are validated through successful completion of designated organizational entry competency validation and specific competency validation. Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is necessary.
