Job Summary:
Telemetry Nurse in Phoenix, Arizona. This acute care position involves providing specialized nursing care for neurological and trauma patients on a Neuro Acute unit. The role requires strong critical thinking and assessment skills, with an emphasis on patient safety and rapid response to changes in patient conditions.
Job Details:
- Shift Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association). Minimum of 2 years of professional nursing experience in a telemetry or acute care setting.
- Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Med Surg/Telemetry. BSN degree highly preferred.
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS required.
- Experience: At least 2 years of relevant clinical experience.
- Floats: First to float; may float to Medical-Surgical units, Telemetry, or other specified units.
- Additional Information: Candidates must demonstrate strong assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to detect small clinical changes. Experience with neuro patient care and telemetry monitoring is essential. The nurse will be expected to complete SIMs Lab assessments for skills such as Foley catheter insertion and central line dressings, with competency in sterile field maintenance critical for success.

- Work Environment: Telemetry unit with predominantly Neuro patients; includes epilepsy, brain tumors, subdural hematomas, TBI, scoliosis surgeries, and neuro diagnoses. The unit operates with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio during night shifts and features a charge nurse, resource RN, and PCT staff.
