Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or compact license eligibility
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• At least 6 months of acute care hospital experience preferred
• BLS required
• ACLS required prior to direct patient care or within 6 months of hire, as applicable
• Dysrhythmia exam required
• Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills
• Ability to care for adult and geriatric patient populations

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process from assessment through evaluation
• Monitor telemetry rhythms and accurately interpret/sign rhythm strips
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with nursing standards and unit protocols
• Manage patients with cardiac, respiratory, renal, stroke/TIA, and post-operative needs
• Care for patients with chest tubes, central lines, drains, wound vacs, and titratable drips
• Support patients requiring advanced respiratory support such as high-flow oxygen and continuous BiPAP
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate safe, efficient patient care
• Educate patients and families while advocating for comfort, safety, and positive outcomes
• Respond calmly and confidently to changes in patient condition and prioritize care effectively
