This unit is designed for patients being ruled out for certain diagnoses. Typically, the length of stay is 24 to 48 hours. Diagnosis for patients varies, primarily medical, with occasional overflow from surgical cases. No medication drips will be administered in this unit. Nurses are expected to work every other weekend and participate in holiday rotations. On-call shifts will be required, consisting of 5-6 night shifts over a 6-week period. Staff may float within their scope to meet facility needs as necessary. A block schedule may be considered depending on the unit's needs. Candidates must have experience with electronic charting systems. Preference will be given to those familiar with specific charting systems, although it is not mandatory. It is important for applicants to include any time-off restrictions at the time of application. The facility includes various interdisciplinary support services for patient care. This includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services, among others. Telemetry nurses will be expected to interpret and manage dysrhythmias effectively.
