Travel Nurse RN - Telemetry - $2,144 per week in Chandler, AZ

Job Title: RN II - Tele Float Pool - MedSurg/CV/Neuro Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS Must-Have: Ability to titrate cardiac drips Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Tele Float Pool specializing in MedSurg, CV, and Neuro. The nurse must be able to titrate cardiac drips. Travelers are required to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to signing the contract, with a maximum of two attempts within 48 hours of offer acceptance. If the exam is failed, the traveler will be sent home and will not be eligible for rehire for six months in specified regions. A pass/fail simulation lab will be conducted on the first day of orientation. If the simulation lab is failed, the traveler will be sent home and will also be ineligible for rehire for six months. Nurses will float between all telemetry and MedSurg units. Floating is mandatory, and depending on skill level, nurses may float to ICU, Cardiac Tele, and other related areas. Notification of campus and unit will occur 1.5 hours prior to shift start. Floating to different units mid-shift may occur. Travel may include two campuses that are 9 miles apart, requiring time for travel. Nurses must clock out when leaving one campus and clock in upon arrival at the other. The position includes various types of patients such as post cath lab, post surgical, and general telemetry. Common diagnoses include post vascular procedures, CABG patients, neuro post-surgical, and CVAs post TPA. The unit utilizes centralized telemetry, and nurses are required to interpret EKGs. Charge nurses have no patient assignments and a clinical supervisor is available in a management role. Ratios will vary among units. Weekend requirements include four shifts every four weeks. Scrub color is navy. RT and pharmacy services are available 24/7. The nurse will participate in floor-specific orientation. Floating may occur to similar or lower acuity units. Additional duties may include patient interaction and support in various settings.
