Travel Nursing Job Details

- Average Daily Census: 25 patients
- Patient Ratio Experience: 5–6 patients
- Unit Features: Remote telemetry monitoring and interdisciplinary clinical support
- Floating: Required within scope and to lower-acuity areas as needed
Travel Registered Nurse Requirements
- Active Maryland or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license at the time of submission
- At least 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience, including cardiac telemetry or progressive-care nursing experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification
- BLS and ACLS certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association
- Strong cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation skills
- Experience with heparin protocols, non-titratable cardiac drips, IV insulin protocols, and cardiac patient care
- Experience with remote telemetry monitoring, central-line care, peripheral IV management, and post-cardiac catheterization care
- Comfort with BiPAP/CPAP management, oxygen administration, isolation precautions, and rapid-response or code-team procedures
- Electronic health record (EHR) charting experience required
- Flu vaccination required in accordance with assignment requirements
- Willingness to float within scope and work scheduled weekends and holidays
Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult patients with primary or secondary cardiac diagnoses, stroke/TIA, and stable post-cardiac catheterization needs
- Continuously assess patients and interpret telemetry rhythms to identify changes in clinical condition
- Administer and monitor prescribed therapies, including non-titratable Cardizem, amiodarone, heparin, Protonix, and Lasix infusions
- Manage IV access, central lines, peripheral lines, feeding pumps, and Alaris IV pumps according to policy
- Monitor patients receiving oxygen therapy, including nasal cannula and other respiratory support as appropriate
- Recognize and respond to clinical deterioration, escalate concerns, and participate in rapid-response and code-team interventions
- Complete accurate, timely electronic documentation and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Provide patient and family education related to cardiac care, medications, safety, and discharge planning
- Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care
- Float to appropriate lower-acuity areas as needed while practicing within the Registered Nurse scope of care
