Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical / General Surgery – North Carolina

Schedule: Full-time assignment requiring 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. Day shift patient ratio 1:6; night shift patient ratio 1:7. Assignment is scheduled through the facility's rotating schedule, supporting a 44-bed general surgery unit.

Highlights:

• 44-bed general surgery unit specializing in urology and bowel surgery patient populations
• Fast-paced surgical floor with diverse case mix including cholecystectomies, appendectomies, bowel resections, urology surgeries, nephrectomies, hysterectomies, mastectomies, and hernia repairs
• Telemetry-equipped unit utilizing Cerner EMR system
• Equipment experience includes PCA pumps, wound vacs, TPN, tube feeds, Baxter IV pumps, and various drain management
• Collaborative team environment with dedicated charge nurse, unit secretary, and CNA support staff
• Professional development in advanced medical-surgical nursing with complex surgical patient management

Requirements:

• Current RN license in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
• BLS certification required
• Telemetry competency required
• Experience managing 6-7 patients safely and effectively
• Strong background in urology and bowel surgery patient care
• Proficiency with TPN, PCA pumps, wound vacs, tube feeds (PEG tubes, Dobhoffs, NG tubes), colostomies, urostomies, and drain management (biliary, JP, nephrostomy, urinary catheters, CBI)
• Experience administering heparin drips and IV antibiotics
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
• Positive, energetic, and engaging personality with adaptability to fast-paced environments
