Job Title: Telemetry Observation RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of telemetry nursing experience License: Valid state nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS Must-Have: Strong telemetry experience with the ability to function autonomously Description: The Telemetry Observation Unit comprises a 10-bed observation area. Patients are typically ruled out for certain diagnoses, leading to a usual stay of 24 to 48 hours. Patient diagnoses in this unit vary and may include overflow surgical cases. No medication drips will be administered in this unit. It is crucial for candidates to possess strong telemetry experience and the ability to function independently. The shift pattern consists of three 12-hour night shifts. Weekend coverage is required, with expectations of working 2-3 weekends in a 6-week period. On-call responsibilities are included, requiring 5-6 night shifts in a 6-week period. Clinicians may float within their scope to meet facility needs. Licensed candidates are required to have valid certification and experience in charting systems. The patient-to-nurse ratio is expected to be 1:5. Additional interdisciplinary support will be available, including services from physical therapy and respiratory services.
