Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year in related nursing specialty preferred License: RN License in state of employment or compact Certifications: BLS certification from AHA required, ACLS certification from AHA required Must-Have: Every other weekend requirement Nurse/Patient Ratio: 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing Description: The competent Nurse practices independently in a clinical setting and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care with the ability to plan for long-range goals. Continuously develops the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation. Meets expectations of applicable competencies such as Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed. Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.
