Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7 PM - 7 AM) Experience: Minimum of 1 year in related nursing specialty preferred License: RN License in state of employment or compact Certifications: BLS certification, ACLS certification Must-Have: - BLS certification from AHA required - ACLS certification from AHA required Description: The nurse will provide care for patients with myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, peripheral vascular disease, and some medical-surgical overflow. The department manages various cardiac drips, excluding nitrates. The nurse will be responsible for routine and complex care. The role includes assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, and evaluating patient care. The nurse will address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Medication administration and treatments will be handled according to established protocols. Monitoring for side effects and effectiveness of treatment prescribed is essential. Documentation of patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided is required. The nurse will assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers. There is a weekend requirement of every other weekend. The nurse must float to other units when needed. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 5:1, but may reach 6:1 on occasion. Ceil blue scrubs are required as the dress code.
