Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience required License: Any active state RN license or compact license accepted Certifications: BLS, NIH required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: EPIC experience Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment IV Start proficiency N95 fitting required prior to working in a specific unit unless alternative PPE is provided Availability to work every other weekend and holiday Description: This position requires a highly skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiac Telemetry. The unit typically cares for patients with heart failure, chest pain, NSTEMI, post-procedure recovery, COPD exacerbations, and substance abuse issues. RNs must be capable of managing IV drips including heparin, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, Cardizem, and insulin. The typical patient ratio is 5 patients per nurse during nights and weekends. Floating to other units based on skill set and unit census may be required. The candidates should be comfortable in a fast-paced environment. This role includes performing critical nursing tasks such as managing cardiac drips, interpreting dysrhythmias, and administering blood products. Compliance with isolation precautions and maintaining proper hygiene practices are essential. Candidates must demonstrate competency in advanced cardiac care and be familiar with various respiratory support methods. Additional competencies required include telemetry monitoring and wound care management. Candidates should have experience in post-myocardial infarction care and pre/post-cardiac catheterization procedures.
