Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty preferred License: RN License in state of employment or compact required Certifications: BLS certification required Must-Have: ACLS certification required Description: Two positions available, with 36 or 48 hours per week guarantees. Shift is from 7 PM to 7 AM. The unit caters to patients with myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, peripheral vascular disease, and some medical-surgical overflow. The department frequently manages cardiac drips, though does not administer nitrates. Required licenses, registrations, or certifications include BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA. Every other weekend is required. There is no on-call requirement. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1 but may sometimes be 6:1. The dress code consists of ceil blue scrubs. The role involves providing routine and complex nursing care, demonstrating an awareness of all relevant aspects of patient situations. All nursing care must utilize the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. The nurse must address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Medications and treatments will be administered according to protocols, with monitoring for side effects and effectiveness. Patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given must be documented. Assessment of learning needs and provision of education to patients, family members, and caregivers is required. A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred. Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is expected. Experience in the related nursing specialty is preferred. Newly hired experienced RNs must complete a designated organizational entry competency validation. Completion of skills and competency requirements will be achieved with a preceptor at the bedside.
