Opportunity:

RN - Telemetry

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation required
• Department-specific orientation consists of 2 12-hour shifts
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 4-5 patients during days and 5-6 patients during nights
• 18-bed Telemetry unit providing acute care
• Common diagnoses include stroke, CHF, ACS, CAD, arrhythmias, and post heart cath patients
• Experience with cath lab post recovery (femoral/radial) and stroke care highly preferred
• Minimum 2+ years of recent experience required
• Must have drip experience; common drips include Cardizem, Amio, Dopamine, and Heparin
• RNs are responsible for signing off on telemetry strips; monitor tech handles central telemetry
• Equipment includes BiPAP and High Flow
• Floating may be required to ICU, Med/Surg, or ER within scope of practice, including ER boarders
• Nurse Aides available on unit; ratio is acuity-based with up to 2 CNAs
• Charting system: EPIC
• Meditech experience is a plus
• No scrub color restrictions
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; phlebotomy is a plus
• Illinois nursing license required
• BSN not required

This acute care facility operates an 18-bed Telemetry unit with a strong focus on cardiac and neurological patient care. The unit is supported by a charge nurse, nurse aides, and a monitor tech responsible for central telemetry, ensuring comprehensive patient oversight. The facility provides access to advanced respiratory equipment and maintains a collaborative care environment with floating capabilities across ICU, Med/Surg, and ER departments.
