Job Summary: Telemetry Nurse specialization located in Alexandria, Louisiana. This full-time position involves providing care for patients with cardiac and other acute conditions on a 12-hour shift schedule. The role requires delivering both routine and complex nursing care independently within a fast-paced clinical environment.
Job Details:
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Days, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: BLS certification from AHA required; ACLS certification from AHA required; RN License in state of employment or compact; 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in telemetry or cardiac step-down units preferred.
Float: Required to float when needed.
Position Requirements: All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire. New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and must successfully complete onboarding requirements, including organizational entry competency validation and a Med Surg specific competency validation.
Experience: One year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
Work Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, full-time.
Summary of Duties: Provide nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for patients with cardiac issues such as MI, CHF, Arrhythmias, PVD, and related conditions. Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols, monitor for side effects, document patient history and care, and educate patients and families.
Additional Responsibilities: Make appropriate care assignments and delegations; demonstrate leadership principles in practice; address the psychosocial and cultural needs of patients and families; utilize nursing process effectively.
