Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Active nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Cardiac Telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, care for CVA patients Description: The position is for an Intermediate Care Unit nurse. The schedule is for day shifts, working three 12-hour shifts per week. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring adult patients requiring cardiac observations. Patient ratios will be 1:5-6. The nurse may need to float within the service line to meet patient needs. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. The role involves caring for post-cardiac catheterization and pacemaker patients. The nurse will manage patients with chest pain, shortness of breath, COPD, diabetes, hypertension, and renal failure. Occasional care for medical or surgical overflow patients may be necessary. Special procedures and additional responsibilities may be required as indicated by patient needs. Team collaboration with various services such as IV teams, respiratory services, and social services is expected. The daily patient census is approximately 26 with a total of 32 rooms available. All required skills must be evaluated during the screening process.
