Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required License: Valid state RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Cardiac Telemetry experience CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident) management experience Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias experience Description: The position involves working in an Intermediate Care Unit focusing on telemetry. Registered nurses will be responsible for monitoring adult patients requiring cardiac observation. The nurse will provide care to pre and post cardiac catheterization patients, along with those recovering from pacemaker insertions. Candidates will also monitor patients under observation for myocardial infarction. Other conditions include care for chest pain, shortness of breath, COPD, diabetes, hypertension, and renal failure. Nurses will additionally care for patients after transfer from ICU and post-CVA patients who may have received TPA. Occasionally, the nurse may be assigned to care for overflow medical or surgical patients. The patient-to-nurse ratio on day shifts is expected to be 1:5-6. Weekend shifts will be required every other weekend. Nurses will float within their scope to meet facility needs. This role offers an opportunity to collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Candidates are expected to have some experience with EPIC charting system. Participation in call shifts may be required.
