The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe and effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for maintaining a financially stable unit and promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises both licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of a recognized model of care, the RN assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates the plan of care. The RN emphasizes patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN utilizes educational and professional experiences to deliver quality care and mentor/precept staff. Job Responsibilities: Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Development & Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. Reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with patient and family, as well as interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family. Evaluation: Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. Education: Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs. Leads and participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor/preceptor. Demonstrates teamwork and identifies opportunities for improvement. Complies with regulatory standards and participates in the Practice Governance model.
