Roles and Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring telemetry and continuous cardiac monitoring Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, oxygen saturation, and neurological status Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and cardiac rhythm Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments Monitor telemetry data and communicate significant rhythm changes or abnormalities to physicians and the healthcare team Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and other multidisciplinary team members Assist with admissions, transfers, procedures, and discharge planning Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) Follow infection prevention, patient safety, medication administration, and hospital protocols Respond appropriately to rapid response and emergency situations Provide compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the patient's hospital stay
Qualifications
Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry or acute-care nursing experience Current BLS Certification required Current ACLS Certification required Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythms, telemetry monitoring, medication administration, and patient assessment Experience caring for patients with cardiac, medical, and post-surgical conditions Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) Excellent communication, critical-thinking, and organizational skills Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced hospital environment Strong commitment to patient safety and evidence-based nursing care Show more Numbers & Facts Location San Luis Obispo, CA Salary $2,250–$2,450
