This position requires a commitment to three 12-hour night shifts per week, with rotating weekends and holidays. The nurse will have the opportunity for charge and precepting roles. The typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 for both day and night shifts. The unit consists of private and semi-private rooms, focusing on telemetry acuity. Common patient diagnoses include elevated troponin levels, NSTEMI, post-operative care, and oncology cases. Nurses will manage a variety of intravenous medications and will work closely with the respiratory therapy team, which is available 24/7. Charting will be done using an electronic health record system. We encourage first-time travelers to apply, and orientation will be tailored based on experience.
