Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

Job Summary:

The competent Nurse in this role will practice independently in a clinical setting, demonstrating an awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. This position involves providing both routine and complex care while contributing to long-term patient goals and handling the challenges of clinical nursing. Responsibilities include assigning and delegating tasks to optimize clinical management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meet expectations of applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provide nursing care adhering to the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with practice level.
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocols; monitor and assess for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers while identifying issues and resources.

Position Requirements:

Education and Skills:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• All newly hired experienced RNs must complete New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• Participation in a residency program or focused orientation for newly licensed RNs.
• Completion of all annual competency verification requirements.

Experience:

• One year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

• BLS certification from AHA is required.
• ACLS certification from AHA is required.
• Current RN License in the state of employment or compact required.

Additional Requirements:

• Work Schedule: 7 PM - 7 AM.
• Guaranteed 36 or 48 hours per week available.
• Every other weekend commitment is required.
• Floating to other departments may be required based on patient care needs.
• Nurse to patient ratios are typically 5:1 but may occasionally be 6:1.
• Dress Code: Ceil Blue scrubs.
