Must-Have: Required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Description:
Delivers coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff.
Coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking and professional discretion.
Employs independent judgment in patient care.
Collects relevant data pertinent to patients' health or situations.
Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues.
Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain desired outcomes.
Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and promotes a safe environment.
Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes.
Identifies outcomes for patients or their situations.
Collaborates with the team of patients, families, and healthcare providers to provide safe and humane care.
Provides learning opportunities for patients and family members.
Directly provides health information to patients, families, and the treatment team.
Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

This unit provides care for post-critical medical or surgical patients requiring observation and care at a level less than intensive care.
Care includes a mix of medical and surgical patients including monitored or ventilator-dependent patients.
Direct patient care only is involved and does not include monitoring electronic devices from outside patient rooms.
