Job Details:
• Night shift position
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Block schedules not required
• 48-hour weeks approved
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Float between units as needed to meet unit needs
• May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• At least 6 months of neurology experience required
• Proficiency with NIH stroke scale required
• Experience caring for a variety of neurology diagnoses required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), craniotomy, CVA management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery care, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury
• Scrub color: Any color for RN
• Parking is provided at no cost
• 36 orientation hours provided
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
Facility:
This short-term acute care facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 total staffed beds. The facility operates as a teaching hospital and includes a specialized neuroscience unit focused on neurology, neurosurgery, and telemetry patients. The unit holds a JCAHO Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center designation, a JCAHO Spine Center of Excellence designation, and is a NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center. Interdisciplinary support includes interpretation services, and the unit maintains a daily census of 48 patients across 48 rooms and 64 beds.
