Job Description:

Position: RN – Tele Float Pool
Shift: 12-hour Days | 06:45 AM–07:15 PM
Contract: 13 weeks 
Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
Weekend: Every other weekend (EOW)
Call: None

Unit / Patient Population

  • 38 beds
  • Ratio: 4:1–5:1
  • Acute care
  • Common patients: ETOH, DKA, CHF, sepsis, stroke, GI/GU surgery, joint replacements
  • Float between Med-Surg and Tele
  • 1-day orientation per unit

Must-Haves

  • 2 years Tele/Stepdown experience
  • BLS + ACLS
  • NIHSS
  • Active RN license required to submit
  • Must be comfortable floating to Med-Surg and Tele
  • Tele experience with ability to read own strips
  • Experience titrating drips

Drips

  • Insulin
  • Heparin
  • Amiodarone
  • Cardizem

Equipment / Monitoring

  • GE telemetry monitors
  • Monitor techs available, but RN must interpret strips
  • CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow

Charting: Cerner
Trauma Level: Not specified in the JD
Scrubs: Navy
Block Scheduling: Not available
