Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Summary

The Telemetry Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care to patients with a focus on cardiac monitoring, including patients with myocardial infarctions (MI), congestive heart failure (CHF), arrhythmias, peripheral vascular disorders (PVD), and medical-surgical overflow. This role involves managing various cardiac drips, excluding nitrates.

Work Schedule

Full-Time position available for 36 to 48 hours per week with night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. Must be available to work every other weekend.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication administration, and care provided accurately.
• Assess patient learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Manage patient assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Current RN License in the state of employment or compact.

Professional Development

All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire. New hires will be precepted by designated trained staff, and completion of all annual competency verification requirements is essential.

Nurse/Patient Ratio

The typical nurse to patient ratio is 5:1, with the potential for 6:1 on occasion.

Floating Requirement

Employees are required to float when needed to meet patient care demands.

Dress Code

Employees are expected to wear ceil blue scrubs while on duty.
