Travel Nurse RN - Telemetry - $2,328 per week in Peoria, IL

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Cardio Thoracic Telemetry Duration: 15 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active IL license or confirmation that application process has been initiated Certifications: BLS, ACLS recommended Must-Have: EKG interpretation, medication titration, RN licensure, BLS, basic nursing skills Description: Unit consists of 70 beds. Patient-to-nurse ratios during the day are 1:4-5 and at night 1:5-6. Common diagnoses include MI, CHF, A fib, COPD, and various lung surgeries such as chest tubes and esophagectomy. Registered Nurses are required to titrate drips, mainly Cardizem and heparin. Charge nurse available 24/7, rarely takes patients. A house supervisor is also available 24/7. Patient care technicians are present with ratios of 1:8-9 during the day, 1:9-10 in the evening, and 1:10-12 at night. Staff may troubleshoot CPAP and BiPAP for home regimens. Heated high flow is only used for special circumstances with certain patients. Tele/monitor techs are available, and nurses must read and interpret their own strips using Phillips monitors. Shifts are from 0700-1930 and 1900-0730. Weekend requirements include every other weekend and holiday rotation. Registered Nurses may float to other general medical units. Scrubs of any color are permitted, excluding children or cartoon-type prints. Unit-specific orientation typically lasts one shift or part of a shift.
