Opportunity:

RN - ED Boarder/Observation

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three days per week (3x12)
• Block scheduling may be accommodated but is not guaranteed
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience required
• Travel experience required
• Experience with pre-cardiac cath and managing ports required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Active compact nursing license required at time of submission
• EPIC charting experience required
• Support ED boarders across the system - patients waiting for a bed in the ED and requiring inpatient care
• Float to observation units at Edgewood and Florence campuses as needed, as well as MS and MS Tele units
• Patient population is adults with a daily census of 36 beds
• Patient ratio experience of 5-6 patients required
• Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, managing cardiac drips, tracheostomy care/management, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Special equipment includes lift equipment, iPad for communication, and pacemaker interrogation devices
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
• Scrubs must be navy blue with no agency or brand logos
• No nose rings or gauged earrings permitted
• Natural fingernails required for direct patient care staff, must be less than 1/4" in length; polish is acceptable
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• No cafeteria available; refrigerator and microwave provided on-site
• Only one holiday may be requested as time off
• Travel partners are not allowed
