Job Summary
The healthcare provider is seeking a Telemetry (Tele) Registered Nurse for a 12-hour day shift position in a fast-paced acute care unit. The role involves managing patients with acute and chronic medical conditions, cardiac telemetry, stroke, COVID, forensic, and post-operative patients within a 32-bed unit that features private rooms and nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 for tele patients and 1:5 for MedSurg patients.

Job Details

• Position Description: 32-bed unit with all private rooms and nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 for telemetry patients and 1:5 for MedSurg patients. The unit handles patients with acute/chronic medical conditions, cardiac telemetry, stroke, COVID, forensic, and post-operative patients.
• Required Qualifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications; RN license; minimum of 2 years' experience; no specific degree requirement; location required; at least 1 year of experience; shift is days, 12 hours per shift, and a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Preferred Qualifications: Cerner experience; ability to read and interpret all cardiac rhythms on GE monitors.
• Additional Information: RN's are required to read and interpret cardiac rhythms. No titration of drips is required; set-rate drips include Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Heparin. RN travelers can float to Mercy Downtown, any MedSurg/MST unit, ICU, or ER as needed. There is no call requirement, but standby for low census is possible with a 30-minute response time. Orientation includes 1-2 shifts with a preceptor. The unit emphasizes adherence to evidence-based practices, including bedside shift report and hourly rounding.
• Schedule: 12-hour days, every other week, with the first shift starting at 7:00 AM and ending at 7:30 PM, minimum 36 hours per week.
