Travel Nurse RN - Telemetry - $2,380 per week in Merced, CA

This unit specializes in cardiac telemetry. Candidates must have prior telemetry, stepdown, or PCU experience. The role is high acuity telemetry, requiring acute care skills. Local candidates are not eligible within a 50-mile radius rule. Travelers cannot have been permanent or per diem in the organization within the past 12 months. The candidate must prioritize travel assignment schedules. Profile review will be conducted after the traveler completes a submission. If clinical recommends, there will be an interview with the manager via Zoom. This role will involve working in a Level II facility. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) is preferred. Response time for standby is 30 minutes. If called in while on standby, it counts towards the cancellation policy. Travelers can extend their assignments up to one year. The area is central to national parks, with beautiful outdoor recreational opportunities. The unit accommodates 34 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 to 4. Nurses are responsible for reading and interpreting their own telemetry strips. Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are available 24/7. There are no call requirements. Shifts are scheduled for 7 AM and 7 PM. Floating may occur to other telemetry floors. Common diagnoses include post-stroke care, CHF, respiratory failure, DM, and hypertension. Nurses may not always have a nurse aide and may be required to perform primary nursing duties. There are opportunities for extra shifts available. The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
