Registered Nurse - PCU/Med-Surg/Telemetry (Critical Access Hospital) Job Summary

Join North Country Hospital, a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital nestled in the heart of Newport, Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. This vital role offers an opportunity to provide comprehensive nursing care within a close-knit community setting.

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality patient care across our Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Medical-Surgical, and Telemetry units. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing a diverse patient population, working autonomously, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our nursing team through charge nurse duties and unit flexibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and comprehensive nursing care to patients on PCU, Medical-Surgical, and Telemetry units.
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities, including oversight of unit operations, patient assignments, and staff support.
  • Work independently to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, ensuring adherence to established protocols and standards.
  • Float to other units within the hospital as operational needs dictate, demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to teamwork.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience as a Registered Nurse in PCU, Medical-Surgical, and Telemetry settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage a diverse patient load.
  • Proven capability to perform charge nurse duties effectively.
  • Willingness and ability to float to other units as required.
