Unit Information:
Beds: capped at 16 beds 24 bed cardiac unit
Minimum Years of Experience required? 1 cardiac experience MS/TELE
Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes

EMR: Cerner
IV Pump: Plum ICU Medical
Med dispensing: Omnicell
Unit specific equipment: WOW, POC glucose, lift and mobility equipment (4 different types) bladder scanner
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
Med Surg and PCU, primarily cardiac
CHF, CABG, TAVR, CP work up, heart Cath, do not pull sheath, post procedure site check and vitals, some PULM
Variety of medical diagnoses
Patient Ratios: Ideal 1:4 up to 1:5
Skills required:
Ask for charge capability not a hard stop but there is potential to fill in as charge
chest tube management
IV starts and lab draw
post surg drain management
site assessment TR band
comfort with 12 lead
Non titratable drip heparin Cardizem, Amio, Lasix, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, nitro, lidocaine
Floating: If yes, where? Yes, could float to similar units
Orientation (facility and unit):
NEO
8 hours one day, 12 hours the next
Scheduling:
Weekend rotation: Every third weekend
On call? No
Holiday Expectations: Based on unit needs, can’t ask off for more than one holiday (day)
Approval of RTO: NM approval
