Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced RN Telemetry professional for a travel assignment in California. This opportunity is ideal for a telemetry nurse who is comfortable caring for acute-care patients and floating across telemetry and medical-surgical telemetry units as needed.

Winter Start Dates Available:

  • October 26, 2026
  • November 9, 2026
  • November 30, 2026
  • December 14, 2026

Traveler Eligibility

  • 50-mile radius rule applies
  • Local rates are not available
  • Candidates cannot currently be or have been permanent or per diem employees at another CommonSpirit facility within the past 12 months
  • Candidates cannot maintain a second job during the assignment and must prioritize the travel assignment schedule

Hiring & Submission Process

  • Candidate profile will undergo an initial profile review
  • Traveler will complete a SmartSheet email as part of the submission process
  • Clinical team will review the profile and provide a recommendation
  • No pre-screen interview is required
  • If clinically recommended, the candidate will proceed to an interview with the Unit Manager
  • Candidate availability for a Zoom interview should be provided at submission

Floating Requirements

Travelers may be required to float based on hospital staffing needs to:

  • 4th Floor Telemetry
  • 5th Floor Medical-Surgical Telemetry
  • 6th Floor Medical-Surgical Telemetry
  • 7th Floor Medical-Surgical Telemetry

Candidates should be comfortable working across telemetry and MS Tele environments.

  • Yosemite National Park: Approximately 1–2 hours away
  • Nearby lakes include:
    • McClure Lake
    • McSwain Lake

    • Lake Yosemite
  • Opportunities for hiking, outdoor sports, and trails
  • Farmers markets available in nearby communities
  • Nearby towns include Atwater, Linton, and Le Grand
  • Approximately 2 hours from San Francisco and Sacramento
  • Approximately 1 hour from Fresno and Modesto
  • Nearby day-trip destinations include Mariposa, Groveland, and El Portal
  • Affordable housing options may be available in the surrounding California communities

Additional Information

This assignment provides the opportunity to work within a supportive travel environment while exploring Central California's outdoor recreation, lakes, trails, and nearby destinations. Travelers may have the opportunity to extend through their one-year mark, subject to facility needs and applicable assignment policies.
