Description:
Accountable for the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care.
Includes direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care in an acute patient setting.
Delivers holistic and individualized care to all patients in an assigned area.
Develops, implements, and coordinates a plan of care that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships between patients, their family/support group, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
Ensures timely and effective communications.
Adheres to hospital policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws and regulations to promote an optimal patient experience.
Utilizes recent clinical experience and proficiency in telemetry and rhythm interpretation.
Demonstrates the ability to read and interpret telemetry rhythms efficiently.
Recognizes common arrhythmias and identifies rate, rhythm, intervals, and clinical significance.
Implements appropriate escalation or intervention based on rhythm changes.
Initiates, titrates, monitors, and documents various drips.
Understands the indications for use and monitoring parameters for each medication.
Monitors for side effects and ensures safe administration.
Possesses demonstrated knowledge and competence regarding nursing theories, concepts, and practices.
Maintains a working knowledge of safety precaution policies and best practices regarding patient care.
Communicates sensitive information clearly and professionally.
Exhibits time management and organizational skills to prioritize patient care and assignments.
Works independently and as part of a team in an ever-changing environment.
Builds collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers.
Ensures the privacy of each patient’s protected health information.
